New Lasting Power of Attorney (“LPA”)
forms announced.
April 2011 -
As an update to the article below the OPG have announced that LPA forms created in the early days of the Lasting Power of Attorney must all be completed by 31st March 2011. They do not need to be registered at this time, although the recommendation is that these documents should be registered sooner rather than later. In view of the proposed charge increases this might be wise.
October 2009
With effect from 1st October 2009 new LPA forms will be released to the general public. Much shorter that the present 26 page documents, the revised forms should make completion easier.
Comment:
A ‘certificate provider’ is still needed, so the documents are not easy as they could be for the general public to complete themselves.
