Rod Jones - who is the owner of Convenient Wills - started a 20-year long career in 1975 with a High Street bank - 8 years of which were in staff management. His staff appraisal reports consistently showed:
- Rod as having good customer services skills,focusing on the customer's needs while easily empathising with them, and being sensitive to their needs;
- he had good communications skills - both written and verbal;
- he used his initiative and extensive technical knowledge (gained from studying and passing the Chartered Institute of Banker’s exams to become an associate) - to solve problems;
- he was a team player.
The Chartered Institute of Banker’s exams tested Rod's knowledge on property law, business law, and trust law - areas of law which are important when advising clients on making a Will.
After being made redundant Rod moved into financial services for 9 years where again his staff appraisal reports showed the same skills set. Rod passed the Chartered Insurance Institute’s exams - to hold the Financial Planning Certificate. The CII exams tested Rod’s knowledge in financial products and services, together trust law and taxation (amongst others) - topics which are also important when advising clients on estate planning and making their Will.
Rod started actively drafting Wills in 1999. A significant number of clients reporting back that they found Rod to be knowledgeable, friendly, thorough, a good communicator who they could easily understand even though the topic was unfamiliar to them, and sensitive to their situation (be it that they have just lost a close relative or they themselves are facing an uncertain future).
Convenient Wills
Convenient Wills is the trading name of the proprietor Rod Jones.
Convenient Wills specialises in providing a home-visit document-drafting service that provides legally valid Wills (‘Last Will and Testament’) and Lasting Powers of Attorney (‘LPAs’) to people living locally to the business (i.e. in Staffordshire, East Cheshire, and North Shropshire).
Convenient Wills commenced trading in 2005.
The business reflects the core ethics of the business owner. I.e. the business should provide :
- good value for money services; and
- 'add value' i.e. extra value should be provided whenever possible.
Customers have commented how they liked the home-visit feature, our value-for-money services, and the will-making process in general. This is reflected in the number of client referrals the business receives: It is not uncommon for us to draft Wills for our clients, the client’s parents, and the client’s children. 80+% of our new business comes from personal recommendation.
