Key Features and Unique Selling Points of our home visit LPA Service
The following are just some of the reasons why our clients choose us, Convenient Wills, to make their LPAs for them.
1 Our home-visit LPA service has the following features:
A. Meetings can be held in the morning, afternoon, evening, after work, after the children have gone to bed, and even on a Saturday. In short: whenever it is convenient for you.
B. We come to your home [or your workplace or a hospital ward if preferred] to take your instructions
- Many of our clients say how they find this arrangement far more convenient than having to travel to a solicitor’s or will-writer’s office.
C Our advice is holistic.
- i.e. Our advice takes into consideration how our advice on one topic might impact on another.
D. Our charges are transparent, and fixed at the outset.
- You can see our fees for the most frequently requested services listed on this website. We will provide a bespoke quote for those that are not listed, on request.
- This means you know how much you will have to pay at the outset: there are no nasty surprises for you when you come to pay. You can buy from us with confidence.
- Compare our transparency with those of our competitors who either do not list their prices or if the do they present them as a long menu of options, expecting you to know what each options means and whether you want/need them.
- We keep our price list simple. For example we quote a price for 2 LPAs. That price is for 2 LPAs, their production, their registration, us acting as the certificate provider. That price stands irrespective of how many attorneys are to be appointed, or how many guidance notes are to be listed. We do not quote a price for a single LPA (When most people should have two), a price for acting as the certificate provider, a price for registration, a price for …. etc etc.
F. We personally oversee the LPA signing process:
- This significantly reduces the risk of error in the signing process.
- Some of our competitors send out signing instructions with their master documents and expect their client(s) to follow those instructions.
3. In respect of your LPA:
A. I will use my many years of experience to guide you through all the areas you need to consider when making your LPA.
- This feature removes the need for you to undertake any prior research other than finding out the names and addresses of people to be included in your LPA.
B. We will help you identify the best combination of attorney and reserve attorneys.
- Many people get this selection wrong when doing it themselves.
B. We will provide you with a list of example guidance notes and instructions to help you select what, if any, guidance and instructions to include in your LPA for your attorneys.
- This saves you time researching what you want to include, and
- provides you with wording that we know meets the OPG's requirements.
C. We supply an LPA Summary prior to signing for your perusal and checking prior to us printing off your master documents.
- This gives you time to reflect upon (and change if required) your original instructions.
D. We will act as the donor's certificate provider.
E. Each LPA will be printed on high-grade quality paper.
- These documents may have to survive many years of usage. Low grade paper can be easily damaged. High grade paper stands a greater probability of surviving the test of time.
- Note: The Office of the Public Guardian ("OPG") offer a D-I-Y service. Using this service will save you our fees - but not those of the OPG. However using the OPG's service also means you will have to research how to complete the forms and explain them to your attorneys - including the wording for any instruction or guidance note, you will have to type in all the details into the OPG's system, print off the documents yourself, arrange for a certificate provider to complete section 10, arrange for all the forms are completed in the correct order and to be signed and witnessed correctly, and then submit the LPA to the OPG for registration.
4. At the end of the process you will [each] have:
A two registered Lasting Powers of Attorney ("LPA")
- -a property and affairs LPA , and
- a Health and Welfare LPA .
B which will have been registered with the Office of the Public Guardian ("OPG") so they can be used immediately by your attorneys - and no further costs will be required.
